Presenting “life is just a prom”, the show of Betsey Johnson’s 2008 spring collection consisted of petticoated party dresses mostly. These party dresses were shown decade by decade, from 50s’ style through 70s’ Empire waist and daisies dress to now.
Dresses with huge crinoline featured bow and dot made these cloths quite feminine and girly.
Johnson used a lot monochromatic color scheme to develop her spring collection of 2008 and for the proportion, it is either equal by applying dot patterns or one is above 70% to be the main color for a cloth when there were more than one colors in a dress.
It seems like that black and white are her favorite color that we never miss in her collection. The appearance of primary colors is in high frequency as well. Since it is a spring collection, Betsey chose tint colors. such as the pale pink and lemon yellow, and floral hair accessories to provide a spring feeling.

Achromatic, Triad and Monochromatic color scheme were applied in the show. Due to using same value colors, the contrast in the triad color scheme was not strong. And the blue belt gave balance to the shell pink dress and pink blouse.
White was used a lot to make the girls more pure but they show different effect. With blue, both white and blue are stand out and separate while with pink and red is more harmonious.
Because the date is the sixth anniversary of 9/11, the show was closed with a red-white-and-blue dress called “Miss America”.
