Color used in this collection:
High value & constant chroma
For the proportion of color using, most of them were 100% by applying monochromatic color scheme and some of them was 75~85% for a main color and the rest were other colors such as using second color to decorate the cloths on the edge or for dot patterns.
Betsey Johnson established a “school of Charm” for her 2007 fall collection. To make the show more elegant and refined, Betsey used black, white and indigo as the main color.
Although green and red were used as well, their chroma is decreased to make cloths more decorous. Mono chromatic and achromatic color scheme were applied to most of these cloths. Complementary color Scheme (Blue and Orange are complementary colors to each other) and Analogous color scheme was also used in this collection ( indigo and green are next to each other on the color wheel to be analogous color to each other). Different from the sweet, girlish and pure feeling created in spring collection, the whole fall collection was dull but rich by combining white and black or indigo and using shiny fabric. Some floral and stripes patterns were created using triad color scheme. To meet a fall feeling, the floral pattern was quite different from them in spring collection.
Color used for fall collection:
High chroma & constant value
Same as the Spring collection, most of cloths have a 100% color using proportion because of monochromatic color scheme, or colors were equally applied to develop the whole set by using stripe patterns.
